Converting a former care home into an independent vet clinic in Acomb, York, this project involved a focus on sustainability and differentiation from larger chain practices.

The design incorporated green principles, including bespoke FSC plywood furniture, low-energy LED lighting, and a recycled plastic and aggregate parking area.

The reception area was designed with ‘cat-friendly’ guidelines, creating separate spaces for cats and dogs.

The clinic features two consultation rooms, including one with an x-ray machine, requiring lead-lined walls for safety.

The facility also includes a staff apartment and a rear garden for growing vegetables.
