Dyls Café, Skeldergate Bridge
Fit-out and Adaptation
Dyl’s Café is situated within a highly unusual Grade II Listed ‘toll house’ on Skeldergate Bridge in York.
Following the floods of December 2015, the owner wanted to implement a series of improvements, over the 3 floors, to extend the available internal and external areas for customers. In addition, the kitchen and toilets are being completely refurbished and upgraded.
New flood protection measures are also required both internally and externally.
Given the historic nature of the building and setting the design needed to respond sensitively to the building fabric and surrounding context.
The work is due to commence later this year.
