If you are thinking about starting a new project then please contact us to arrange a no obligation consultation.
When dealing with a new enquiry, we usually ask questions about the location of the site or building (i.e. what is the full postcode?), do you have a clear idea of what you want/need to do? If not, that’s something that we can help to develop for you. Do you have any specific timescales that we need to know about and do you require help with establishing a budget or meeting funding requirements?
We usually want to visit the property or site, so that we can get the best possible understanding of the context for example, or the character/condition of an existing building. We are happy to make an initial site visit without charge.
During the consultation or site visit, we talk about planning considerations, whether you require planning permission or other consents and how likely these are to be gained.
We help you to understand what information you would need to collect about your site or building and who would provide this. We can obtain quotations from other consultants that you might need input from on your behalf.
We also talk about the design process that we go through that follows a series of distinct Work Stages. The RIBA, our professional body, has developed these into what is referred to as the Plan of Work 2020. We have simplified this into the following;
- Sketch Design Development
- Planning Application/s / Listed Building Consents
- Technical Design Development
- Tender Process (Competitive or Negotiated)
- Construction and handover
We can then provide a quotation that states the services that we would perform, based on these stages.
Please go to our ‘Services’ page for more information or contact us with your questions.
