The Old Village
Rear Extension and New-build Garage

  • Location

    York

  • Project Cost

    c. £200,000

The project consisted of two elements; the first was to replace an unsympathetic 1970’s rear extension with a new kitchen/dining room extension, using reclaimed brick, charred timber and a sedum roof. The second component was to demolish an existing garage that cut off a large portion of the rear garden from the house, and build a new re-orientated garage. Internally the palette for the walls and floor was kept relatively neutral to allow the strong teal colour of the bespoke plywood/laminate kitchen to take centre stage.

Low energy smart LED lighting was used throughout the new areas as well as underfloor heating.
